Cladonia portentosa. One of the rather wiry lichens which have sometimes been separated into their own genus, Cladina. Cladonia portentosa is separated in having the tips of the branches mostly divided into three. It is a common species in heathland. This photograph was taken on Portelet Common, Jersey.
