Cladonia uncialis ssp. uncialis. This form of the species is rare occurring in dry heathlands and on pebble dunes in Scotland. It is much more upright than ssp. biuncialis, and the tips of the thallus branches spray outwards. This photograph was taken on shingle in Morayshire.
