BRC publications schedule
Distribution atlases are the most visible results of the huge amount of recording effort that goes on. Increasingly they also provide valuable information on species biology and status.
This page shows our forthcoming publications. Recording schemes are always keen to receive reliable data but the imminent completion of an atlas is often a spur to the submission of records, so we urge recorders to regularly look at our schedule of forthcoming atlases.
Recent atlases
- Atlas of Fleas by Bob George
- Provisional atlas of the aculeate Hymenoptera. Part 7 edited by Robin Edwards
- Woodlice and Waterlice (Isopoda: Oniscidea & Asellota) in Britain and Ireland by Steve Gregory
Forthcoming atlases
The following distribution atlases are scheduled for publication in 2010/2011:
- Provisional atlas of the British Plumes (Lepidoptera: Pterophoridae) by Colin Hart
- Centipedes
- Ladybirds
The following schemes are in the latter stages of data collection for forthcoming distribution atlases and scheme organisers would therefore appreciate any records that you may have. The relevant scheme organisers can be found under Recording Schemes.
- Grasshoppers, crickets, earwigs and cockroaches (Orthoptera and allies)
- Stoneworts (Characeae)
- Hybrid vascular plants
- Fungus gnats (Diptera)
- Larger Brachycera
We hope to develop the publication schedule further with other recording schemes.
