Valenzuela flavidus

Species account
Valenzuela flavidus A medium sized (c.4mm) barkfly. Frequently, but not always, has a striking yellow colour (N.B. V. burmeisteri can also be bright yellow). Common in Britain and Ireland. Only females have been recorded.
Valenzuela flavidus The forewing is distinctive by having ‘thick’ veins caused by the veins being outlined with brown.
Valenzuela flavidus The dark stripe on the head is a useful aid to identification.
