Sensitive records and LERC data flow

The issue of mobilising records considered as sensitive has been raised before (see thread here https://www.brc.ac.uk/irecord/node/873). There seem to be some issues for recorders who submit records of sensitive species getting access to their own records too (https://www.brc.ac.uk/irecord/node/7113).

To date there has been no response from anyone at iRecord to clarify the situation with regards to this data. There's not even anything in the help pages. To which records does blurring happen? Is it a suite of sensitive species or those flagged by the recorder as sensitive, or both? I have recorders using iRecord who wish to make their data available to others including ourselves at SWSEIC yet we cannot access this via the LERC download as the content is blurred to such an extent to make the record useless.

Please could I ask that someone makes this all much, much clearer for users. And please could someone respond to clarify why sensitive records are not made available at full resolution to LERCs? The terms and conditions clearly state that the record will be made available to LERCs. All LERCs will have protocols for dealing with sensitive data e.g. in line with the guidance for sensitive species published by SNH in our case.

Sensitive records - again

Bumping this - can someone at iRecord please comment?

Records downloaded using the LRC download facility (new format) are blurred - location name withheld and grid ref given blurred 10km/1km etc. Why? Records are effectively worthless.

I will be leading a training day for recorders on iRecord on Friday and next Wednesday and unless I get some clarification about data flows for sensitive records then I will advise all recorders NOT to blur any records - if records are sensitive then submit them via another route. At the moment I am unclear if recorders can download the full details of their own records which are marked as sensitive - it's been noted as a problem on the forum in the past but I can't check this as I'm I can't enter a sensitive record in training mode - throws an error.

Sorry, but clarity on this issue is still severely lacking.

Apologies for not responding formally to this post.  We are evaluating options, aiming to balance the need for sensitivity whilst making records available for organisations with a bona fide requirement to access them.

Still no solution to accessing sensitive records

Bumping this query once again. There has still been no progress on this very important issue regarding data flow. I find myself giving information to someone about to undertake a badger survey, knowing there are iRecord records of setts and latrines in the vicinity  but not being able to access useful information because the data is blurred to an unusable level. Please can this issue be looked at, discussed with LERCs and national agencies if necessary, but please can we have some progress. It is now SIX YEARS since I raised this issue on the forum and still the situation has not been adequately resolved.
