I am probably doing something wrong but I am having no successs at all with filtering 'all records'.  I want to create a filter for butterfly records in my Butterfly Conservation branch region but having gone through the process, saved and applied I get...a map of the whole of the uk with rodents, plants, amphibia, bees,..in short everything.  I have managed to create a filter with such a large mesh that it doesn't filter anything out at all!  Can somebody help please?

Try this?

I just tried it for my county, and this sounds pretty much the same as how you described, but did work - maybe there's something tiny that's different?

Explore All Records

Create a filter

What?

Species or higher taxa tab.

Butterflies - I selected "Butterflies (Lepidoptera) unassigned" [but the other one "Invertebrates (Butterflies)" seems to work too - thought they both include all Lepidoptera, not just butterflies - I know that the distinction is somewhat arbitrary, but it is a bit confusing including the word butterflies if it doesn't actually limit the search to that]

Add

Apply

Where

Warwickshire (which I had already saved - maybe that's a difference?) or maybe regions are trickier than vice counties?

Add

Apply

I didn't put a date range in, but it found 160,000 records back to one for 1988 - admittedly it does seem to include moths, but they are all from Warwickshire.

Thanks Pieris.  I was looking

Thanks Pieris.  I was looking to filter for my Butterfly Conservation branch region (NE England) which covers three VCs so possibly that might be where the problem lies.  Has anyone else had experience of filtering by this rather than by vice county?
