Scottish Spider Search
The Scottish Spider Search is a joint project between TWIC and The British Arachnological Society, with support from Scottish Natural Heritage, Caledonian Conservation and Buglife.
Spiders are some of our most familiar and widespread invertebrates, but there are still big gaps in our knowledge of their distributions in Scotland. We need your help to find out more about four easily identified spiders: the Four-spotted Orbweb Spider (Araneus quadratus), the Daddy Long-Legs Spider (Pholcus phalangiodes), the Nurseryweb Spider (Pisaura mirabilis), and the Zebra Spider (Salticus scenicus). Please submit your records to us via this iRecord activity. Photographs are essential to help verify your records.
For more information on spiders or the Scottish Spider Search visit www.wildlifeinformation.co.uk/scottish_spider_search.php or www.britishspiders.org.uk.
Please note that if you are entering records for Daddy Long-Legs spider, iRecord gives it the common name of Cobweb Spider! Entering a record as Daddy Long-Legs will enter a record for the harvestman. Please enter the record using the latin name of Pholcus phalangiodes!
To access all facilities available for this group you need you to log in to iRecord.
