Primarily a Lepidopterist, but becoming increasingly interested in other insects as well as bryophytes. Average botanist. Also a lapsed birder.
I started moth trapping at the age of 13 and haven't stopped since...
My bogey species:
Pale Eggar, Waxwing
My most wanted:
Death's-head Hawk-moth, Oecophora bractella, Buxbaumia aphylla
All are micro-moths: Diasemia reticularis, Oxyptilus laetus, Ancylis tineana, Sterrhopterix fusca.
A productive two days in Kent with Tony added 40 species including Scarce Black Arches, Fiery Clearwing, Dotted Fan-foot, Pigmy Footman, Ground Lackey and Bright Wave.
