Summary: mainly associated with tree trunks; occasionally on branches of deciduous and coniferous/evergreen trees and bushes.
- Tree trunks: beech, elm, horse chestnut, lime, oak, pine, sweet chestnut and sycamore.
- Deciduous branches: alder, ash, blackthorn, hazel, oak and sallow.
- Conifer/evergreen branches: holly, pine, privet, sitka spruce and yew.
- Other microhabitats: stacked logs and stone walls.
Sampling techniques: beating branches, brushing tree trunks and hand searching.
