No photo of whole animal A moderately large (c.4.5-5mm) barkfly. Very rare in England with one recent record.
Psocus bipunctatus Unlike other species with mainly colourless wings in this group the majority of the pterostigma is colourless.
Psocus bipunctatus Female
The large rounded lobes of the gonapophyses are distinctive. The side lobes of the subgenital plate give an impression of eyebrows.
Psocus bipunctatus Male
The hypandrium is asymmetrical with a rounded base and a long thin appendage on the right hand side.
