About the scheme

This recording scheme covers two fascinating groups of insects with parasitic lifestyles with important medical and veterinary links.

A key to fleas by Amoret P. Whitaker (2007) is available from the Field Studies Council. There are no recent guides to lice.

Records of these insects can be added to iRecord, or sent direct to the scheme. It is rarely possible to identify species from photos in these groups, and specimens can be sent to the scheme organiser - please email first to arrange this.
