The National Agromyzidae Recording Scheme covers leaf-mining flies, and aims to gain a greater understanding of this little-recorded family in terms of life-style habits, population and distribution trends. The scheme aims to collate historic and current data from Local Record Centres, wildlife organisations and individuals (both amateur and professional).
The Acari are a subclass of Arachnida and comprise the mites and ticks. They represent one of the most ancient lineages of terrestrial life, and have colonised almost every habitat on the planet and occupy a huge range of ecological niches. This recording scheme has been established to gather and collate biological records on UK mites (orders Mesostigmata, Sarcoptiformes and Trombidiformes) from all habitats. Ticks (order Ixodida) have their own separate recording scheme.
